Needs Accountability Statistics
Update: I can no longer reasonably give this app the benefit of the doubt. I have changed my rating to one star, and I am convinced that the most probable explanation for the bizarre, odds-defying behavior of the app is that the game becomes rigged after playing for a period of time without purchasing chips. I don’t think it’s merely a coincidence that so many negative reviewers are describing the exact same experience: playing successfully and advancing steadily up the ranks for one season, only to hit a noticeable, unbreakable losing streak that wipes out all of our chips. It’s highly improbable that we’re all getting so much worse at this game the longer we play it, despite being stuck at a much lower rank with lower match-ups. Being constantly beat by opponents always getting lucky, quick knocks has just come to feel too blatant for me to enjoy this game.
Original: I’ve noticed a problem that other reviews seem to be having as well: after playing successfully for a period of time, I am now stuck in a rut in which I cannot win a single game. Literally not one win, aside from when an opponent quit mid-game. After advancing steadily through rank six before the season reset, I now can no longer crack rank twelve. I find it hard not to notice such an abrupt change in my win rate while playing. Furthermore, it seems that my opponents are now consistently winning in exceedingly lucky ways—frequently knocking very early without having to draw from the discard pile.
Assuming the game is not in fact rigged, I wish the developers would add more statistics that measured your card draws against your opponents’ card draws, the way some other apps do. They could include something like a ‘Luck Index’ comparison at the end of a match, which might be something like the total number of cards picked up before knocking (the lower the luckier) added to the number of cards drawn off the discard pile (the lower the luckier). It wouldn’t affect the outcome of the match of course, it’d just be interesting to be able to see.
Since the nature of the game itself is based so much on random draws, I think some attempt to measure this would help give people assurance that the app is being fair.
